Do not waste your time to watch this crap. Poor script with full of wrong information considering it is based on a true story. OR MAYBE IT WAS NOT MEANT TO BE A MOVIE BUT JUST TO BRAINWASH PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ISSUES. Extremely biased against Turkiye and history.This movie is made to gain political advantage in the world stage. Everybody MUST know that There is no fricking Kurdistan in this world-maybe in another universe. Fricking Layla says they paid Turkish soldiers to cross the border and Turkish soldiers raped them -full of crap. If Turks did not opened its borders when gassing happened,there would have been more deaths. Turks gave food and shelters to almost 25,000 of them (Later some of these leeches engaged terrorist activitieS in Turkiye).Kurds crap where they eat.They are trying to divide Turkiye by engaging terrorist activities on a daily basis placing bombs in cities where public is crowded, burning mass transit vehicles while men-women-children riding on,firing on police and soldiers etc. Fricking layla says there are 20 million of them in living in Turkiye. This statement is also fricking wrong.Based on the last census it is only 8 mil. fricking layla says Turkish soldiers burnt their villages.This is also a lie.She never mentions Kurdish terrorist group called PKK also cosidered terrorist organization by USA and EU. PKK killed everybody in villages including men-women and babies and burnt down villages, Just because villager did not give food and shelter to PKK she also says Kurds are replaced by arabs in Kirkuk It shall be know Kirkuk is a Turkoman city. Turkiye still has the right to protect it in case of hostile takeover according to Treaty of Lausanne. THis MOVIE IS ABOUT POLITICS. IT IS BIASED AND FULL OF CRAPS. GET THE FACTS."

Ziryab, Saladin, Anfal, Halabja, Kerkuk....

But now thanks to chauvinists and religious fundamentalists. the rating is down to 2.9. To see disturbing Turkish and Arab and religious fundamentalists' comments on David & Layla, you can join Netflix for free and rent David & Layla for free. Then, you can rate the film and add a few words of comment.
You can also take a moment to click Helpful or Not Helpful on some 50 other comments, many decent to highly positive. Others, you decide where they come from/what motivates them to be so viciously dishonest... Also Netflix allows you to easily Flag some comments as 'Spoilers" or "Not A Review" or "Objectionable content or language". If David & Layla were a Turkish or Arab or Iranian film, Turks or Arabs or Iranians would have by now bought thousands of DVDs for themselves and for their friends to promote their nations' history and culture, even if they only liked 50% of the film.
We all know a picture is worth a thousand words. A good fiim much more. Just look at Turkish and Arab nationalists and religious extremists’ defensive and paranoid comments on Netflix.com or YouTube of David & Layla to appreciate the power of David & Layla.
Would you let Turkish and Arab nationalists and Religious fundamentalists stop mainstream America/Canada learn about "the joys and pains of Kurdistan" as one film critic summarized David & Layla?
Time is of the Essence. It is now up to Kurds if they wish to be activist supporters and spend a few dollars to support the art of their few artists, like the Iranians in America and in Europe, and be counted, known and respected positively in every field in the society.
