A demonstration in support of Kurdish Childern imprisoned in Turkey

Join the demonstration in front of Turkish Embassy to raise your voice against jailing of Berivan, a 15 year Kurdish girl, who was recently jailed for 8 years for allegedly throwing stones at armored Police vehicle in a demonstration, committing a crime against the state as reported in The Guardian 1st Feb 2010: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/...
Almost 3,000 children have been imprisoned for allegations such throwing stones at the police, chanting slogans or making the victory sign in demonstrations in Turkey.
Berivan was mistaken for a demonstrator when she was walking past a demonstration and is being tortured in prison like many others. Today (March 7th) a 7 year old child was taken into custody for making terrorist propaganda. These children are being treated as terrorists in custody and kept separate from other children. They cannot handle the conditions they are being held in and are reported to be psychologically disturbed.
We are appealing to everyone’s conscience and support to pressurise the Turkish sate for the release of innocent children. Please come and show support on Friday 12th March.
1,000 Postcards for Berivan's Freedom!
We are going to gather and give out the postcard that is featured on this website.
We have 1,000 postcards and will being asking 1,000 people to take the card, put a stamp on and send it to Berivan in Diyarbakir Prison.
One of the largest Turkish speaking radio stations has been featuring our protest all week on it's station and has urged people to join of Friday so it is set to be a lively demo outside the Turkish Embassy.
