Kurdistan is not Tunisia

Over a month ago, I posted a response to a blog article by Qubad Talabani, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) representative in the United States, which he hilariously entitled "Kurdistan is not Tunisia" . My post, for the past month, has been "under moderation", and remains (unsurprisingly) unpublished. So much for free speech in the "New / Other Iraq". So, here it is below:

Hosni: “Egypt is not Tunisia”… Bouteflika: “Algeria is not Tunisia or Egypt”… Saleh: “Yemen is not Tunisia”… Hamad: “Bahrain is not Egypt orTunisia”… Gaddafi: “Libya is not Tunisia”… (the list of admirable characters goes on, ad nauseum)… lmao (laugh my a$$ off) sorry Qubad, but you made this way too easy. As for pointing the finger of blame on Gorran, it’s more or less the case of the pot calling the kettle black. The KDP, PUK, Goran (etc) seem to confuse the purpose of these political institutions – they were means to an end, and not ends in themselves. They seem to have forgotten what that end was meant to be, or its meaning. They forgot that end long ago, when that charismatically charming Barham Saleh sold Kurdistan and Iraq to the multinational corporations through the neoliberal ‘US-Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement’.

Perhaps the only political institution in Kurdistan with some semblance of legitimacy, respect and honesty left is the ‘Hizbi Kerani Kurdistan’, the Kurdistan Donkey’s Party. As for what’s happening in Kurdistan, well I just can’t help being a smartass and saying: “I told you so”. This has been a long time coming, and it was all easily preventable. Anyways, I’ve washed my hands of the KRG kleptocratic establishment a long time ago. As my favorite and wisest uncle taught me – the Middle East: HOPELESS!!!
