Enough with the one and only!

Kurdishaspect.com - By Kay Azadabeen

The Kurdish homeland has been invaded and occupied by those who consider themselves as the one and only. Throughout the history many invaders have occupied other people's land and many natives have left their homeland because of its occupation. A complete review of invasions is beyond the scope of this essay or the attention of many readers. Since all invasion and occupations have some common themes, the analysis of a fictional or red one might give insight into the real ones.

Upon arriving in Redland we, the whites, claimed the new frontier was ours forever. The red natives had a strange understanding of property ownership. They believed the land is owned temporarily on a first come first serve basis and returns to the community later. The natives expected their adult offspring to take care of themselves as soon as they could instead of becoming spoiled by inheritance without sweat.

We first accepted and respected reds' way of life. We even colored our neck the same as their skin to show them our respect. They were not convinced that becoming redneck was to respect them. They suspected we were fooling ourselves by thinking that they were fool. They believed respecting others is not by changing colors but by knowing their way of life. They believed the best way to know other people's way of life is by learning their language. They showed their respect to us by learning our language. We found their language useless and were pleased they learned ours for communication.

We got a long until we became bored with the reds' lack of ambition for more ownership. We could not live with just what we had. Some of the reds had occupied a small piece of valuable land without taking full advantage of it. We knew we could use it better and turn it around. We asked them if they could go somewhere else and let us have their property so we could make a better use of it. They laughed and resisted us for being unnatural. We didn't get along with the reds anymore and decided to use new strategies for our wealth accumulation.

We occupied and owned as much land as we could. However, we could not take care of everything by ourselves. The reds were already resisting us and unwilling to work for us. We decided to buy people. We went to Africa where strong men and women were on auction. We purchased many colored people and brought them with us. With the help of our strong human properties we expanded our land property as much as we could and started making various products. Gradually colored people resisted to be bought. We started giving some incentives to them. Soon people of different colors either came to our facilities to work for us or agreed to make our products in their own shabby homes for a minimum incentive.

In a gathering to announce our plans for everyone, our leader heard people's whispering. Some colored people were questioning our integrity and their own foolishness of not taking care of themselves like us. They were asking, till when should we live in shabby homes and build white castles for them? They were thinking of building colored houses that represent their own existence and life message. Our leader stopped them and loudly announced there is no house but the white house and the white man is its messenger. They first accepted the rule but then started saying enough is enough. Some of them are now asking strange questions such as when will be free or as kay azadabeen?
