Are you interested in Kurdish culture, history, society and/or politics?

Public Announcement - By KSSO

Are you interested in Kurdish culture, history, society and/or politics?

Are you currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD programme at a UK university?

Are you conducting postgraduate research on any aspect of Kurdish Studies?

If the above questions apply to you, then please contact the UK Kurdish Studies and Students’ Organisation (KSSO).

KSSO is a non-partisan body dedicated to promoting greater awareness of the Kurds, and high quality research into all aspects of their history, culture and politics, through intellectual exchange.

We are currently organising a series of seminars in London, specifically designed for PhD and advanced Masters Students. Bi-weekly meetings are taking place at SOAS University, in which students will present their research projects in any area of Kurdish Studies. The meetings will provide postgraduate students an opportunity to discuss their work in an informal, supportive environment, to gain presentation and proposal-making skills, and to share ideas, challenges and resources.

Disciplinary perspectives include (but are not limited to):

Political Science
History
Anthropology
Media and Communication Studies
Health Policy
Psychology

Although the series aims to provide a forum particularly for post-graduate students, the seminars are open to those with a professional interest in Kurdish studies - independent researchers, writers and journalists and others are welcome to attend.
