Turkish Delegation Meets Talabani And Necirvan Barzani

BAGHDAD - A Turkish delegation headed by Turkish Prime Ministry`s Chief Adviser Prof. Dr. Ahmet Davutoglu met the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani and Prime Minister of the Kurdish administration in north of Iraq Necirvan Barzani on Thursday.
Davutoglu`s meeting with Talabani was attended by Turkey`s Special Envoy to Iraq Murat Ozcelik, Necirvan Barzani and high ranking officials from the Iraqi government and Kurdish administration.
During the meeting, Talabani informed the Turkish delegation that he is pleased to see the Turks having a meeting with a delegation from the Kurdish administration.
"It is important for Turkey to strengthen ties with not only the central Iraqi government but also the Kurdish administration," Talabani said.
A statement issued by the Iraqi Presidency said that the Turkish delegation and the Kurdish administration handled issues that caused tension in relations recently.
The two delegations made a list of methods to be used in order to eradicate barriers to the development of relations, the statement told.
According to the statement, the delegations stressed the need to resolve matters between Turkey and the Kurdish administration, to hold meetings on issues such as politics, economics, social and security matters and to hold consultations.
