The flare of Kurdish struggle in Iran will not be stubbed out with a few Executions! – By Baqi Barzani

Conscious of its days numbering, the terrorist regime of Iran shamelessly steps up its marginalization, containment and execution of peaceable, democratic voices of Kurdish political activists to portray its muscles. In a futile effort to hamper the duplication of street protest rallies and bloody anti-regime demonstrations, the shuddering terrorist regime has been relentlessly and arbitrarily targeting the innocent Kurdish civilians in Eastern Kurdistan in order to retaliate. This is not the first time that Tehran is resorting to such excessive, barbaric approaches toward the Kurds. Many of the crimes committed or being committed against the Kurds have not been documented and accounted for. What is being divulged before the world eyes is unrivaled to what has actually transpired.

Kurdistan has morphed in to a massive burial ground, hanging filed and firing ranch for the opponents of Islamic regime. Even prior to the takeover of regime in the 1979 revolution, the 10-million Kurds were never treated as equal citizens in Iran, despite playing vital role in liberation efforts, upheavals and toppling undemocratic regimes. Kurds have consistently been regarded as the enemies of every Iranian regime due to their persistent pleas for broader ethnic, linguistic and national rights.

The international community continues to wordlessly observe the perpetration of such heinous tragedies. Such actions reveal the regime’s ineffectiveness and weakness to inflict order, stability and rule of law. The US, EU and UN have remained unresponsive.

When Rumsfeld and alike were squeezing Saddam’s hand in Baghdad, not much attention was paid to the plight and agony of the Kurds back then. It was such reservation signals that emboldened the then- dictator to continue carrying out his mass murders that resulted in the slaying of hundreds of thousands of ordinary masses. Even though regretted later, but it did not help salvage human lives. If it were not for Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons, not much would have been acted upon or articulated about the current regime’s wicked intents of trying to annihilate Kurdish race, as well.

Struggle against Mullas war criminals and human rights abusers will not cease with a few hangings. Kurdish peace-seeking masses will continue their resistance against religious fascism in Iran. The banner of Kurdistan will intrepidly be kept aloft to the very end.

We call upon all individuals, organizations and governments who claim to espouse liberty and democracy and who are partisans of human rights to lend their support for a regime change in Iran and rush to the defense of unprotected Kurds.
