Masood Barzani is a national idol

President Masood Barzani, idolized by majority, vilified by some, is a champion to me.
Why do I assert that? I do not necessarily concur with the President's domestic agenda nor am I a constituent of his political faction. Nor am I saying that he has never created a faux pas during his administration. It is not because I do not side with or admire other strong-minded Kurdish political leaders, as well.
Intellectually agile, facile and articulate, politically courageous, he stands apart from, and towers above, any other politician in Kurdish history. To me, he is a brave hero.
Every decisive decision of his is following philosophical speculations and given the all-purpose interests of the vast majority of Kurdish compatriots, not solely KDP or South Kurdistan.
I commend him for not stooping to our enemies, strappingly sticking with his beliefs, no matter how intense the criticism and invective that are directed against him from all sides and fronts.
His negation to aid Turkey against PKK, his never-ceasing encouragement for an independent Kurdistan and his infrequent discord even with the United States on many strategic national issues has found him many antagonists globally. Indications clearly bearing out his patriotism, devotion and faithfulness. Not selling out Kurdistan to foreigners for the sake of riches or fame.
Hard-hitting, with his audacious remarks, he has created fear and panic in hearts of foes.
I respect and honor President Barzani. I believe in him doing the best in his power, given the circumstances and climate of huge opposition and disloyalty.
He is definitely one of the most sincere Kurdish leaders. I always did and I always will conform to his words.
