Appeal to save the life of a Kurdish teacher
The Kurdish teacher Hamid Doniai was arrested on the 21st of August this year by the Iranian Intelligence Services (Itlahat) in the city of Saghez, Mr Doniai was then taken to the Itlahat office in the city of Saghez. There is no information about what Mr. Doniai has been charged with but according to several sources in the Kurdish city of Saghez Mr. Doniai has been subjected to the worst form of torture. Mr. Doniais families attempt to get any kind of information about his condition in prison has been ignored by the Iranian authorities.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Doniai is the second teacher that has been arrested by the Itlahat during the last couple of months. The Kurdish mathematics teacher Hassan Salahzadeh that was arrested in June of this year was imprisoned for 20 days in the prisons of Saghez and Sanandaj, charged with helping a Kurdish opposition party and spreading propaganda against the regime. Mr. Salahzadeh was latter released temporarily after paying a ransom of 80 000000 Iranian Tomans.
The teacher of the city of Saghez sought the help of the education board of the city to intervene and help their college. The education board refused to help the imprisoned Kurdish teacher and fabricated new charges and accused the teacher of other crimes. The education board has in the case of Mr. Doniai refused to help him and they have terminated his employment as a teacher.
Mr Doniais family are appealing to international human rights organizations to help rescue this Kurdish teacher.
