A reminder for President Talabani before his talk at the UN

The notable president of Iraq, Mr. Talebani, is heading to the UN and deserves a reminder about his own people. Similar to most Kurds he has dreamed of a patriotic unity in Kurdistan. Like most Kurds he has put other nations first, negotiated with them when strong, and pleaded to them when weak. Unlike naïve Kurdish leaders who were put out of sight, out of mind, and out of life, by Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria, he has survived many of these countries' tricks. Unlike his Kurdish peers who become old at a young age, he has remained young at an old age. He might have studied at a different school.
Talabani's name originates from Talaba, the Arabic word for students of Islamic schools. Unlike other Talibans who are devoted to one of the sects of Islam, Mr. Talibani devotes himself to all or maybe to none of the religions. He finds common ground with everyone. Like Saladin, he might be seen as a Talaba among Arabs, a Hoja among Turks, a Hajji among Persians, a Sufi among Kurds, a Rabbi among Israelis, a priest among Americans, a donkey among Democrats, and an elephant among Republicans. Similar to all of them he could pray for god's blessing with the masses regardless of his inner conviction or the lack of it.
One might ask how one could be a donkey and an elephant at the same time. It happens though, especially with age. Joe Lieberman is a living experience. The Jewish-American-Democratic-Republican Joe is hyphenated and represents different things at the same time and so is Jalal, the Kurdish-Iraqi-Sunni-Shiite. Joe could not be nominated for presidency for his Jewish-ness and Jalal was not getting anywhere for his Kurdish-ness. Joe was elected as a senator for being a patriotic American and Jalal was selected as president for being a patriotic Iraqi. Joe was honored by Republicans after distancing himself from Democrats and Jalal was honored by Shiite and Sunnis after distancing himself from Kurdistan. Joe has been described unfairly as a Democrat for being the member of the donkey party, and Jalal has been unjustly described as a donkey baby for working with the Kurdish enemies. Joe quit smaller size donkey dreams and joined the convention of big elephants, and Jalal quit all dreams thinking he would be afflicted with elephantitits.
You never know; because of his insight and ability to conform, president Talebani might even run for the Whitehouse. At that capacity he might receive a call at 3:00 am to make a decision about a major threat against Kurdish and American interests. He might answer, "Be patient, let me sleep, and tomorrow I will check with Tehran, Anakra, Damskus and Baghdad to see what they advise". For now he is not the leader of the United States but a leader in the United Nation. I hope in his address to other nations at the UN he will have the courage to ask when will be free or in Kurdish kay azdabeen?
