Kurdishaspect.com
This is an urgent appeal to help a sick person by the name of Muhammad Aziz in Nashville , Tennessee with a unique situation, and a serious respiratory problem.
Muhammad Aziz, a Kurdish from Northern Iraq (now a US Citizen), is a victim of 1988 Gas attack of the city of Halabja, Northern Iraq (1), he is married and has two children age 2 and 4. He has 100% disability due to his severe chronic lung disease, and his wife is unable to work since she has to take care of him and tier two children.
Since 1988 many of Mr. Aziz's immediate relatives have died as a result of the same chemical attack. Mr. Aziz is the only one in his family who was able to come to the United States .
He is in an urgent need of medical treatment because of injuries to his respiratory system (2) due to the inhalation of chemical gases during the bombardment of Halabja on march 16 1988. He is a candidate for lung transplant (3) but the waiting list is long and it may become too late for him when one is ready because of the fast deterioration of his lungs. Fortunately there is a new treatment that can improve his lung function but the patient cannot afford the cost of the treatment (4). The treatment is called (interferon Gamma-1b) (5) which is not covered by Mr. Aziz's insurance TennCare Medicaid (6). This new treatment is too expensive for Mr. Aziz to afford. The treatment is now available in the USA (7).
We ask for your help to cover the expenses for his treatment. . Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville expressed their willing to cooperate with the sponsor of Mr. Aziz's treatment in the matter of financial arrangement.
We greatly appreciate and anticipate your help to save Mr. Aziz's life.
Thank you for your kind contribution

To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is regarding my patient, Mr. Mohammed Aziz. Mr. Aziz has severe pulmonary dysfunction related to bronchiolitis obliterans that he sustained while exposed to mustard gas in Iraq . The patient has been under my care for the last 5 years and despite corticosteroid treatment and inhalers, he has had a progressive decline in his pulmonary reserve. He also has frequent hospitalizations for exacerbations of his lung disease. Based on data performed throughout Europe and also in the Middle East , there are studies that suggest that the drug, Interferon, may have benefit in slowing the decline related to bronchiolitis obliterans. The drug that is typically used in the studies has been Interferon. The dose in most of these studies is a dose of 200 mcg three times weekly. The current cost here in the United States for this drug is approximately $3284.48 cents per dose. The patient would need a dose based on the four-week cycle with a total accumulative cost of approximately $42698.24.
I recognized that the cost of this drug is high; however, Mr. Aziz has spent the last 5 years trying to get awareness for the Kurdish population in Iraq and for Kurdistan through numerous media outlets and has served this purpose quite well. I think that it would be in the patient's best interest to obtain this drug if the government is willing to pay for the cost of this particular pharmaceutical. If you have questions regarding this plan, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours truly,
