Kurdish American Youth and Gift of Hope overseas reach goal with help of the Kurdish community

During the month of October 2009, the Kurdish American Youth Organization-501(c)(3) began a project with the Gift of Hope Overseas to raise enough funds for the purchasing of mobile medical supplies for the people living the rural areas of the Kurdish region in Turkey. Kurdish American Youth Organization and Gift of Hope Overseas reached that goal at the end of the month with the help of the very generous donations from members of the Kurdish community.
The goal of the project was to raise the funds in time before the cold winter season arrived. Many children and women in the Kurdish area in and surrounding Dogubeyazit are currently suffering from many health-related complications due to the lack of immediate medical attention. The people are unable to receive basic medical treatments because of the lack of investment in supplies. Using the funds donated by members of the Kurdish community, the mobile labs can be purchased and sent to physicians and nurses in Dogubeyazit to enable them to conduct routine medical examinations onsite in the most rural areas.
The members of the Kurdish American Youth Organization issued a statement of gratitude to all the contributors and fundraising participants in helping to achieve the goal. The quick response from the generous donors allow KAYO to respond quickly and effectively in coordination with Gift of Hope Overseas in delivering mobile lab equipment to the region.
